Merges

This is a merge of 3 pictures I took of a sunset from our apartment deck. Sometimes we do get beautiful sunsets. That mountain is between our town and the Pacific ocean.

The point of sharing this picture -- not bragging. I find how often my interest merge. Images that I see as pictures that become inspirations for quilts. I have yet to conceive how to transform these sunsets. However, others have been conceived. Another merge is genealogy and Quilting. Story telling and Quilting. Family history and Quilting. Well, you've got the idea.

I am fortunate to have had my Grandmother live with us as I was growing up. She taught me to sew, crochet, quilt, etc. Then besides this I have been the grandchild to inherit quilts, fabric and scraps.

I don't mean to put out these little bits as teezers but in way of introducing myself. I will be telling, showing, and sharing more of all of these bits in latter blogs.

So another one of my quilting philosophies is ---- each quilt has a story as well as tells a story. I aspire to accomplish that with each of my quilts.

I so agree about each quilt telling a story! Why else would we make them if they didn't have meaning? Welcome to blogging Rae, I will be back to visit! Love the picture!

I so am looking forward to seeing what you have of your Grandma's and what you will do with your quilt journey..you are the first I've heard mention that they saw the piecing of scraps to get one bigger piece.
I've seen it in alot of old quilts, but most don't seem to notice it.

Great sunsets pictures!
