Is it fall??

A few weeks ago it felt like fall. Nippie in the mornings and evenings. A gentle warmness during the day, coooooool at night. Not quite cold but cooler then cool. We got my winter cloths out of the storage and I started trading off with my warm weather clothes. We put Grandma (a wool and flannel quilt my Grandmother made) on the bed under our comforter. Indian summer had seemed to end.
Well no sooner had we started these rituals and WARM weather jumped back in. For more then a week it has been warm enough to have the fans on in the apartment, leave the door open in the evening until after 8:00. We just closed the door more for the noise then the coolness.

However there was enough cold to cause the trees to turn. We have a street corner near us that always fascinates me in the fall. There is a Holly tree (just starting it's main berry season), a lemon tree that is covered with lemons at this time of year, an orange tree (also having quite a few oranges), a Date Palm tree (It never has fruit), and last but not least about 5 maple trees (all different color stages from greenish yellow to maroon.) I am glad there is a stop sign at that corner every evening when I am driving home. It gives me a moment to enjoy the variety.

Well at any rate my first set of Fall quilts are hung. This is one of them. I did it about 4 or 5 years ago. The center is a pre printed panel. I built around it with other fall fabrics I had.

So where's a picture of this wonderful corner? Sounds truly exquisite.
