A spare moment

I had an unusual free moment, so I thought that I would leave a brief blog. Boy 2 days in a row. How did this happen?

Maybe I will just show you something of my past projects.

This fan was one of my first fans. The fan was done on a muslin printed foundations. It was m first experience with foundations. I wanted it to look like a Japanese fan, so I sewed ribbons at it's base to look like stays. The material was left over bits and pieces of Japanese cotton brought to me by a young lady on her return from being a missionary in Japan. Some of the fabric was printed as a pieced pattern. Other parts were really pieced by me. Then I cut the strips for making the fan.

Very nice. They have such nice fabrics in Japan. I have been there several times because my DIL is Japanese. THeir kimono fabrics are just amazing.Unfortunately I wasn't quilting then so didn't buy much.Too bad.

Hi Rae,

I am sorry to read that you lost your Dad.That is not a long time agao . you must miss him . It is indeed so hard to see love ones suffer. And knowing that it everytime is getting more worse .

We are hoping for a good few years. But now he is holding his liquid(right word?) yesterday fever againnd again a high bloodpressure. :-/ You know one moment we are thinking he is doing well. and the other moment we hear that he have this an that. But the most sadness is that I hear it in his voice that he is not well. he sound depressive . Lets pray for the best for him and that he can get a month rest . Then is a surgery waiting !
