As I was telling you in my last entry, this is the quilt that I was working on in the picture. The appliques are sort of 3D. The elephant's ear is separately attached piece. The cat's ears are kind of prairie points. The clowns ruffles and the turtle's ruffles are 3D. The Checken's comb and wing are also, and again the other elephant's ear are 3D. The basic over all soid block, applique block, alternating, is a truditional quilt. It is stitched in the ditch as would a truditional quilt. However, the applique patters did not come from applique patters. They were embroidary patterns from some 1950 something work basket magazines. I adapted them for quilting appliques. Also, I don't remeber seing an applique over 2 blocks before as the clown is.

This is a really fun quilt! You did a great job with transfering embroidery designs to fabric. It's unique..and very charming..*VBS*
