I just read Karen's blog about her mother's passing. I need to end this evening/night on a good note. Here is a picture that my mother panted in 1933 or 34. We found it this past week end in a suitcase of things from her Art College years (pre depresion/ pre WWII).

Beautiful painting! We loved our trip up the coast of California and were blown away by the Redwoods.
I'm sure the log cabins were done that way on purpose. It's beautiful.

What a great keepsake to find. I keep a painting my Mom did of my Army boots with flowers with me...a bit odd for a painting but that's Mom!
